Consulting

SEO and AI visibility consulting.

I help teams improve technical SEO, make better content decisions and understand how their brand appears across search engines and AI answers.

What should your SEO team focus on now?

Search is changing, and traffic alone doesn't explain the full picture. You might be losing visits, attracting the wrong audience, or seeing your content referenced without getting the click.

I review your technical setup, content, competitors and performance data to understand what's happening and where the opportunities are. That includes AI visibility where it's relevant to your customers.

What I do

01

Technical foundations

Review crawling, indexing, site architecture, internal links, structured data and performance.

  • Crawl access for search and AI crawlers, treating search and discovery crawlers (such as OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot) separately from crawlers that collect training data (such as GPTBot and ClaudeBot), so you can decide which to allow. (Bot-protection settings block the crawlers you want more often than you'd think. Ask me how I know.)
  • Core Web Vitals and internal linking: prioritize technical fixes by their effect on important pages and user journeys.
  • Structured data that helps search engines and AI tools understand who you are and what you offer.
02

Content strategy

Identify what your audience needs, where existing content falls short and which pages deserve attention first. That can mean updating, consolidating or creating content.

  • Content mapped to customer questions and search intent, rather than one page per keyword.
  • Review existing content before commissioning more. Identify existing pages worth updating, consolidating, or expanding.
  • Clear, well-structured pages that answer the question directly.
03

Authority

Review your backlink profile and identify opportunities for useful research, partnerships, coverage and relevant industry mentions.

  • Link quality judged on relevance: whether a site reaches your audience and makes sense for your business, rather than a single third-party score.
  • Digital PR and partnerships that help build relevant coverage and industry recognition.
04

AI visibility tracking

Track a relevant set of prompts, compare brand mentions and cited sources, and investigate patterns over time.

  • Prompt-level tracking: which customer questions mention you, which mention competitors and which mention nobody yet.
  • Source analysis: which pages AI tools cite in your category, and what that suggests for your content.
05

Measurement

Connect search performance to leads, customers and revenue where the available data allows. Keep visibility metrics in context.

  • Search performance tied to leads and revenue, not just sessions.
  • AI referrals and self-reported discovery tracked where available. Some AI-influenced visits arrive without a referrer, so asking customers how they found you fills part of the gap.

I also support local, ecommerce and marketplace SEO. We can discuss which areas are relevant to your business.

What the work usually includes

It usually starts with a 30-minute conversation. From there, the work tends to include:

  1. Review

Technical performance, content, competitors and search visibility.

  2. Prioritize

A practical roadmap based on opportunity and effort.

  3. Implement

Work with your team on the agreed changes.

  4. Measure

    Review performance and adjust priorities.

Questions people ask

How do you approach SEO alongside AI search?

As related work, not the same work. Much of what helps in search also helps in AI answers: pages that can be crawled, clear content and a credible reputation. The measurement is different, though, so I track them separately and keep each in context.

What does AI visibility work involve?

Tracking a set of prompts your customers are likely to ask, checking which brands and sources appear in the answers, and watching for patterns over time. What we learn usually feeds back into content, technical fixes and digital PR.

How long does SEO take?

Technical fixes can show up within weeks. Content and authority work usually takes three to six months to show a clear trend. I'll set expectations for your site once I've seen the data.

Can you support content development?

Yes. I build the strategy, the briefs and the refresh priorities, and review what ships. The writing usually runs through your team or a content partner.

Do you work on local SEO?

Yes, including multi-location setups, listings and reviews, and how local businesses appear in AI answers.
